Job Description:
Immediate need for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for the midtown Manhattan office. The main responsibility will be to design heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and water distribution, ventilation, air-conditioning, and building automation systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all mechanical engineering and design tasks, With Junior Engineer support
- Mentor Junior Engineers/ designers
- Hands-on ability to prepare of all Mechanical engineering contract drawings in relation to building design – This is a hands-on senior role
- Lead the design of all HVAC as well as water distribution, ventilation, and building automation systems
- Perform system design calculations, load calculations, some energy modeling
- Selection of equipment used in building systems
- Coordinate work with other engineering disciplines
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 + years of professional experience in HVAC Engineering and Design
- Proven experience as a Senior Designer and some project management
- Knowledge of state and local codes
- PE license preferred but NOT required.
- Previous design experience with an AE and/or MEP engineering firm
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to thoroughly communicate thoughts and technical ideas
Education:
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college
